Food for my soul

It gladdens my heart that people who are kind not just to other people but to all living creatures too and people who not only talk kindly but also think kindly still exist in a world where “I” has become the most important letter and pronoun. Witnessing random acts of kindness reinstate my belief in humanity and my belief that as a race, we are not a lost cause.

We live in an increasingly selfish world and so, I think that kindness and kindness for the sake of kindness without any ulterior motive whatsoever is my food for the soul.

I agree completely. The world has become so selfish, that it is food for the soul when we see acts of unselfishness and kindness. Wish there was more of it. Nicely done.

  7. Beautiful!

Sadly, random acts of kindness are looked upon with suspicion. People around think there MUST be some ulterior motive. For example, because of a few ‘biscuit bandits’, a simple act of offering to share a snack with a co-passenger on a train has acquired a different colour.

That is true and it is extremely unfortunate we have come to this. I don’t know if we will ever accept goodness without question again. But I hope one day, kindness will no longer be so rare so as to be questioned when received.
