Boo loved the park. His mother hated it because of the staring and pointing that followed him. The visits left her emotionally spent but Boo was oblivious. “Mamma”, he always said. “Tomorrow I’ll make friends.”
That evening too he wanted to go. She’d have given anything to say no, but, just turned to pick up her keys.
Boo wriggled away from her running towards the other children when suddenly, a little girl stopped him and held out her hand. Boo grabbed it and flashed a grin.
“Today’s the day Mamma!” he shouted.
Mamma wept as she realized kindness still exists.
I couldn’t resist adding a little piece of fiction around the same theme. Kindness….truly food for my soul!
