I woke up thrilled that morning because I knew it was my last day there. I looked at my suitcase which had been packed days before, giddy with anticipation. I looked in the mirror and was frowning at the small stain on my favourite frock when Sr. Ann called out, “Sue..hurry down! They’re here!”
Suddenly, the excitement faded and panic set in. I worried they no longer wanted me. I went down hesitantly but when my mother saw me, she ran to me and she enveloped me in a tight hug.
I breathed a sigh of relief…finally I would belong….

the comments told me it was about an orphan…i had thought it was an insecure girl who was in a hostel believing the parents had abandoned her….beautiful it is !!
